Classic Southern Wedding Inspiration // The Wright Farm Wedding Styled Shoot
Classic Southern Wedding Inspiration
They say that time flies by when you’re having fun, and boy is that true! It’s hard to believe that one year ago today I was out on location at The Wright Farm sharing the behind-the-scenes to this styled photoshoot on Instagram stories. After a whirlwind of a year of it getting picked up for publication by both Modern Luxury Weddings Atlanta and then The Perfect Palette, I could not be more thrilled to finally share it on the blog here with all of you all today!
A Southern Soul
I love southern weddings. I especially love the look of a gorgeous classic southern wedding. When Linda and I were dreaming up this project, we really wanted to design an elegant and upscale southern wedding. We loved the idea of the classic southern wedding with charm and pearls. But, we also wanted to give it a slight modern twist while keeping it simple and filled with more meaningful details. Lastly, with blush being a huge color that has taken the industry by storm, we also wanted a to give a fresh take on the blush wedding trend by giving it a softer presence. The goal was to make it thoughtfully flow through each detail of the day without you even realizing it.
The Wright Farm
For those of you who may not know about The Wright Farm, it’s a gorgeous farm venue tucked away on over 50 acres in the tiny West Georgia town of Roopville. After hosting their daughters’ weddings there successfully, this family decided to turn their farm into a full-force wedding venue that gives bride’s the peace and quiet of a country southern wedding only an hour outside of the hustle and bustle of Atlanta.
When I pulled up to the venue for the first time, I immediately fell in love – and not just with the horses and the cattle that were in the pastures on either side of their 8,000 square foot barn! There’s a reason why I designed our tablescape with their barn doors in mind. That barn is seriously the perfect backdrop to any southern belle’s dream wedding.
Classic Southern Wedding with Modern Details
Like I mentioned, when designing this photoshoot, I really wanted to give a slight modern twist to the classic and elegant southern wedding that people may normally think of. To create a more timeless look, I really love mixing the ‘old’ and the ‘new’ when it comes to details. There’s just something magical about the vintage mix-matched china from The Prissy Plate Company and the vintage rentals from The Vintage Rental Co. Together with a heirloom family diamond ring and a classic white wedding cake from Confection Perfection Cakes, you can’t go wrong!
Meanwhile, I was all heart eyes seeing these ‘old’ details paired with the more modern elements. Southern Stems‘s stunning organic style bouquet and Fabulous Frocks of Atlanta‘s modern wedding gown next to The Modern Gent‘s navy and black tuxedo was like a match made in heaven. But, don’t get my started on one of my favorite details of them all – hand painted macarons from Cake Envy that were like a work of art themselves. Not to mention, they really were as good looking as they tasted. (Y’all, I couldn’t help myself!)
