John’s First Easter Basket

Celebrating John’s first year of holidays is something that I have loved and looked forward to so much. While we will be teaching John the real meaning behind Easter as he grows, I think celebrating with a fun Easter basket each year will be a great way to kick off the Spring season. I remember growing up my mom always had Easter baskets waiting for us in the morning, with candy filled eggs, fun activities, and little seasonal toys / treats. My parents would hide those plastic eggs in our yard, and we’d hunt (and re-hunt) them for hours. It’s those memories and traditions that I cherish and hope to start with John this year.

What’s Inside John’s Easter Basket

I had so much fun putting together a little basket for John’s first Easter. It’s not much and it’s really simple since he’s not really old enough to enjoy it this year. However, I really just wanted to start the tradition this year. I splurged and got him the Pottery Barn Easter basket with an embroidered liner with his name that we can reuse for years to come. While it was a little more on the pricier side, I was super impressed with the quality. I definitely think it was worth the money as a keepsake item that we’ll be reusing each year.

When it came to the stuffers, I filled it up with a few bunny / Spring themed books, a new ducky silicone plate and baby spoons since we’re getting into solids, bubbles, and the Skip Hop bee crawl toy since that’s the milestone we’re working on next. While they aren’t filled with anything, I also filled the basket with plastic Easter eggs for him to play with. Lastly, they aren’t pictured but Rob and I also got him a hat and polarized baby sunglasses so he can start enjoying more time outside as the weather gets nicer. In the end, I think it’s a perfect first Easter basket filled with some fun things as well as things he needed. Take a look at how it all came together below!

Baby’s First Easter Basket Ideas

The possibilities are endless when putting together a Easter basket for your little one. John’s Shamaw got him a super cute personalized bucket with new spring clothes and shoes, books, a couple new toys, and a whole lot of puffs. John’s Grammy got him the Little Tikes swing for our back porch and is planning to fill it with some small goodies.

When it comes to planning a Easter basket for your baby, I think a really good place to start is to combine needs with a few fun things. (So you’re not wasting money on just buying stuff!) What milestones are coming up that you’d like to work towards (solids, crawling, walking, etc)? Is your baby in need of any Spring clothes with warmer weather coming?
